Paul Beatty's The Sellout wint Man Booker Prize 2016
The Sellout van Paul Beatty is de winnaar geworden van de Man Booker Prize 2016.
The Sellout wordt uitgegeven door de kleine onafhankelijke uitgeverij Oneworld, die na Marlon James' 'A history of seven killings' nu dus voor het tweede achtereenvolgende jaar in de prijzen valt.
Uit het juryrapport: ‘The Sellout is a novel for our times. A tirelessly inventive modern satire, its humour disguises a radical seriousness. Paul Beatty slays sacred cows with abandon and takes aim at racial and political taboos with wit, verve and a snarl.’
