Clancy Newhouse was always the new kid. He had moved so many times in his life, he stopped unpacking his stuff. And this time was no different. Oh, he unpacked clothes and a few things, like his Legos and video games, but his books and other toys he left sealed away in their boxes, ready for the next move. He sat on one of those boxes and peered through his bedroom window. The view was alright. A typical neighborhood filled with houses, trees, and cars. Nothing special and nothing new. There was snow on the ground, but not much. Clancy had seen much more snow when they lived in Germany. Clancy's dad was in the Army. He didn't understand exactly what his father did in the Army, but whatever it was, it required a lot of moving around. Even though he understood why his dad had to move so much, it still made him angry sometimes. Clancy let go of a long sigh. The trees were bare and other than a crow or two flitting about, even the birds were too cold to come out of hiding.
